For the first time, one of the Maestro Angelo Francesco Lavagnino’s last film scores. Directed by Jordi Grau in 1969, and starting Serena Vergano and Michael Craig, this introspective drama includes one of the Italian composer’s most beautiful and indispensable works. A marvellous love theme in a waltz rhythm, beautiful melodism and highly romantic passages, a silent film piece, an extensive ‘piano sources’ catalogue, and a most daring approach to experimental music.
A Lavagino’s unique work, and one of his favourites, whose recording counted on the orchestral conduction of Carlo Savina and a renowned piano soloist: the composer Armando Trovaioli. More than an one hour of terrific score, edited and mastered from the original ¼ tapes, vaulted in a perfect monoaural sound.
