Basic Instinct 2-CD & Kiss The Girls 3-CD

Nieuwe releases Quartet Records

Quartet Records heeft 2 nieuwe soundtracks uitgebracht. De eerste is een 2-CD set van Jerry Goldsmith's score voor Basic Instinct. De 2de release is een 3-CD set voor Kiss The Girls met de volledige score gecomponeerd door Mark Isham, maar ook de rejected score welke gecomponeerd was door Carter Burwell.

Basic Instinct van regisseur Paul Verhoeven uit 1992 met in de hoofdrollen Michael Douglas en Sharon Stone deed destijds heel wat stof opwaaien. Maar tot op vandaag blijft dit nog steeds een zeer legendarische film. Even legendarisch zoals de film is Jerry Goldsmith's score welke door velen nog steeds aanzien wordt als één van Goldsmith's beste scores. In 1992 heeft Varese een album uitgebracht met de hoogtepunten uit de score wat een album van 45 minuten opleverde. Tien jaar later heeft Prometheus Records de volledige score uitgebracht. De nieuwe versie van Quartet Records bevat zowel de volledige film score als de originele soundtrack inclusief nog enkele bonus tracks welke opgenomen zijn destijds door Goldsmith. De score is volledig geremixed en geremastered door Bruce Botnick van de digital multi-track tapes. Basic Instinct heeft nog nooit zo goed geklonken zoals nu. Deze release bevat liner notes welke geschreven zijn door Daniel Schweiger. Deze Limited Edition is verkrijgbaar in 2000 exemplaren.

De tweede release is Mark Isham's volledige score voor Kiss The Girls inclusief de rejected score welke geschreven was door Carter Burwell. Kiss The Girls is een psychologische thriller uit 1997 met in de hoofdrollen Morgan Freeman en Ashley Judd. Mark Isham ((A River Runs Through It, Cool World, Point Break, Blade) componeerde een donkere score waarbij hij gebruik maakte van syntheseizers en orkest. Mark Isham was niet de eerste componist die muziek voor Kiss The Girls had geschreven. Carter Burwell had reeds de score geschreven welke ook volledige opgenomen was. Dankzij deze release kan je genieten van zowel Isham's volledige score alsook de afgekeurde score van Carter Burwell. Deze 3-CD set is in 1000 exemplaren verkrijgbaar. De totale speelduur bedraag 191 minuten.
