Concert 'Scoring for Scorsese'
Concert tickets on sale + CD pre-orders available
On Thursday 17 October the Ghent Film Festival will organise a concert entitled ‘Martin Scorsese: music by Bernard Herrmann, Howard Shore, Elmer Bernstein, Philip Glass, Peter Gabriel and others’ at De Bijloke Music Centre Ghent. The programme includes symphonic music from Taxi Driver, ‘Cape Fear’, ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘The Aviator’, The Departed and ‘Hugo’, among others. These works will be performed by the Oscar-winning Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé. Tickets are currently on sale!
Tickets cost €20 and €30 respectively and are available from www.filmfestival.be or from the ticket desk at Uitbureau Gent (82B, Veldstraat - 9000 Ghent). Alternatively you can also book by phone (09/233 77 88).
The Oscar-winning Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé recently recorded the immortal music featured in the Scoring for Scorsese music by Bernard Herrmann, Howard Shore, Elmer Bernstein, Philip Glass, Peter Gabriel and others’ concert. The CD will be released by the Ghent Film Festival and can be bought as of 12 October in the exhibition shop at the Provincial centre for culture Caermersklooster for €10.
