Christian Kolonovits (February 25, 1952, in Rechnitz, Burgenland) is an Austrian composer and conductor.

Kolonovits studied piano from the age of five. After high school in Vienna, he studied at the Vienna Conservatory piano, cello, conducting and composition. While at college, he worked as a studio musician, bar pianist, piano teacher and played in various groups.

In 1972, Kolonovits was a pianist in the band Milestones and soon made a name in the Austrian music scene as a composer and arranger. From then on he worked for the butterflies, Wolfgang Ambros, Georg Danzer, Wolfgang Ambros, Rainhard Fendrich, Stephan Remmler, Ludwig Hirsch, STS, Maria Bill, Stefanie Werger, EAV, Linda Martin, Franz Morak. In 1974, he worked in Germany for Supermax and Boney M..

Kolonovits composed his first soundtrack in 1979. Kolonovits was famous for his collaboration with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra

Many international stars appreciate his qualities as an arranger, composer and music producer: Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Luciano Pavarotti, Kiri Te Kanawa, Agnes Baltsa, Sarah Brightman, Helmut Lotti, DJ Bobo, Michael Bolton, Jose Feliciano, Albano Carrisi, Patricia Kaas and the Scorpions.

Twice, in 1977 and 1993, Christian Kolonovits conducted the orchestra for the Austrian contribution to the Grand Prix d'Eurovision de la Chanson

In 2008, Kolonovits composed the score for the German mountaineering film, Nordwand (North Face). The film premiered in the U.S in early 2010.
