The One Track Heart soundtrack features a score by J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr) and Devadas, along with tracks by Krishna Das, including two previously unreleased live recordings from the film.
The score helps to bring to life the emotional journey of Krishna Das and his efforts to integrate the spiritual disciplines he learned in India with his upbringing as an American blues and rock and roll singer. J Mascis’s electric guitar lines, combined with the harmonium playing of Devadas and other Indian music instruments, such as the tabla and sarod, help to bridge the sounds of the east and west. This combination creates a musical environment that draws you into the worlds Krishna Das inhabited on his journey to bring the devotional chanting of India to the west.
