Varese Sarabande will release Michael Giacchino's score to Star Trek Beyond on July 29th 2016. This is the third film in the reboot franchise of Star Trek. This film is directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 4, 5 & 6), who takes over the director duties of J.J. Abrams, who still is a producer. The cast of the previous film is returning, starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin. New to the franchise are Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. Also returning is composer Michael Giacchino who is back after Star Trek (2010) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2014). His Star Trek theme will be the foundation on which the score is build. The playtime of this score with very generous with 61 minutes of score.
