The Eighth Annual Krakow Film Music Festival to honor the finest music for Films, TV and Videogames

Leading Hollywood composers join Poland’s leading composers and musicians for the Eighth Annual Krakow Film Festival May 27th – 31st, 2015. This year’s festival recognizes music in all visual media (TV, film, videogames). Major concert events include: The Video Game Show: Critical Hit, Shakespeare (in film) in Concert, International TV series Gala, Star Trek in concert and more. Special guests include, composers: Elliot Goldenthal (Frida, Batman), Patrick Doyle, Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love), Jocelyn Pook, Atli Orvarrssen (Chicago Fire), Jeff Beal (House of Cards), John Lunn (Dowton Abbey), director Julie Taymor (Frida), musicians Sara Andon (flute), Tina Guo (electric cello), Jason Hayes (synthesizer), and very special guest the legendary Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki.

The Film Music Festival in Krakow (FMF), produced by the Krakow Festival Office and RMF Classic, is a captivating showcase of the highest quality musical interpretations of the moving image and one of the most important festivals in the world of film music. Performed by leading musicians and orchestras in Europe and the world, the festival provides a unique concert experience by setting it to live screenings of the world’s most spectacular films, well-known for their dazzling cinematography, top-class direction, enthralling plots, and emotive acting.

The Festival takes pride in its diversity of featured music and film, all-star roster and the diversity and size of its audience. The 2015 edition anticipates an audience of over 35,000 in total. From retrospective performances of the classics to exclusive ceremonies distinguishing contemporary favorites and celebrating international superstars of the industry, the event’s boldness in production, innovativeness in the sphere of sound and film technology, and outstanding talent is an annual showcase of the best in the visual music industry.
