and the Oscar goes to...
Today the Oscar ceremony was held for the 87th time. The Oscar for Best Original Score went to Alexandre Desplat for this score to The Grand Budapest Hotel. It's Desplat's first Oscar. Previously he has been nominated 6 times for the Oscars and this year twice, with his scores to The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Imitation Game.
The Oscar for Best Original Song went to John Stephens and Lonnie Lynn for their song Glory from the film Selma.
