Clear and Present Danger complete + Inchon 2CD

World premiere of complete soundtrack by James Horner from third film in popular series drawn from Tom Clancy's exciting Jack Ryan tales, starring Harrison Ford as CIA agent Ryan, fighting drug cartels in South America. Horner creates stirring main theme to anchor score, then surrounds with plethora of cues both wildly exciting, dramatically involved. One highlight out of many is incredible, lengthy 'Ambush' sequence, one of Horner's most powerful action cues of all time. Interestingly, original CD release only offered half of score and omitted virtually all action sequences following 'Second Hand Copter' sequence. All of them make their premiere here, including riveting climactic helicopter rescue scene ('Woodroom Finale') that introduces exciting new fanfare motifs embellishing rich version of main theme. Entire set mixed, edited and mastered from complete digital scoring session elements courtesy Paramount Pictures. James Horner conducts. The second release is Jerry Goldsmith's Inchon, it's a reissue of long out-of-print Jerry Goldsmith 2-CD set. While we generally don't look backwards, continuing demand to bring set back for those that missed out on short-lived original expanded release compels us to do just that. So we bring it back in non-limited fashion. All contents are identical to previous release. Magnificent score offers abundance of action, powerful percussive ideas, moving minor-key theme for Lim, aggressive battle ostinatos for tanks, trucks, other Korean War hardware. Centerpiece is dynamic march for MacArthur (Laurence Olivier). Patriotic idea is used judiciously during score, then becomes fully-realized, stirring finale. Another rousing highlight is exciting 'Main Title', one of the composer's most pulsating, aggressive credit sequences of his career. Goldsmith signatures abound throughout! Goldsmith tackled scoring assignment in July 1980, when David Janssen had role. Production delays, severe editing of film followed. Final cut finally emerged two years later. Goldsmith music was probably the most memorable asset. Jerry Goldsmith conducts studio musicians, records in Italy. Intrada MAF release is not limited.
