Interview Chris Bacon

Bacon talks about Source Code

Born in Provo, Utah, Chris Bacon is a young film composer whose love for film and music encouraged him to attend the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television graduate program at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

While studying at this institution he met renowned composer James Newton Howard, and in 2005, Chris became his full-time assistant. In 2007, Chris scored his first feature film — the animated/adventure Space Chimps. In the years that followed Chris composed music for the Disney documentary “Walking Sleeping Beauty” and the animated movie Alpha and Omega. More recently, Chris contributed music for Gnomeo and Juliet. His latest project is Source Code, a Sci-Fi/thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan.

We called Chris Bacon and he talked about his passion for filmmusic, his time as an assistant to James Newton Howard and about his latest score Source Code.
