After composing the music for over 50 European films and being nominated for two Cesar Awards, Alexandre Desplat, burst onto the Hollywood scene in 2003 with his evocative score to THE GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING (starring Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth), which earned him nominations from the Golden Globes, BAFTA and European Film Awards. 2011 was a very busy year for composer Alexandre Desplat. He wrote the music to Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part 2, A Better Life, The Tree of Life, La Fille du Puisatier, Carnage, Largo Winch 2 and The Ides of March. He also won for the 3rd time is a row the “composer of the year” award at the WSA in Ghent.

Alexandre Desplat is for the moment one of the most asked composers in the film industry. He writes music for european and american films. He got his big breakthrough in Hollywood with his score to Peter Webber's The Girl with the Pearl Earing. Since than Desplat has written music for films such as Birth, The Queen, Mr Magorium Wonder Emporium, Largo Winch, Hostage, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Lust Caution and many more. For the Curious Case of Benjamin Button he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and The Oscar for best score. His latest works are The Fantastic Mr Fox and New Moon.
