Nick began scoring film trailers and television commercials in 1994. To date, he has either scored or licensed music for the ad campaigns of over 600 major motion pictures. “Lord of the Rings 3,” “iRobot,” “Million Dollar Baby,” “Terminator 3,” “The Weather Man,” “The Aviator,” “Bridget Jones 2,” “The Ring 2,” “Sahara” and “National Treasure” are a few examples. Nick has created the music for the ad campaigns of Jergens, Dole Salads, Acura, Boston Carver, and Home Base, and has also scored numerous TV shows for NBC, CBS, FOX Family, and The History Channel. “Exploring the Unknown” and “Scariest Places on Earth” were both ran for three seasons on Fox Family. Nick Recently scored the first eight episodes of “Nightmare on Elm Street, Real Nightmares” for CBS.

The Journey as a composer has also inspired Nick to record and program his own sounds and samples. Quantum Leap Productions was founded in 1997 and has since grown to be the world’s top producer of high-end sample libraries and virtual instruments. In 2002 and 2004, Nick sampled the Seattle Symphony in order to create the ultimate palette of orchestral instruments. Quantum Leap sounds are used by most of the top film and TV composers working today. People like: James Horner, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, David Newman, Danny Elfman, and Chris beck, just to name a few.

More recently, in 2006, Nick Phoenix partnered with Thomas Bergersen to form “Two Steps From Hell” a music production powerhouse that focuses on scoring everything related to motion picture advertising . Their music has been used in trailers for Twilight, The Dark Knight, Hulk, Wall-E, Narnia: Prince Caspian, Pixar's Up, Watchmen, the second and third trailers for Star Trek, among many others.
